United Way Quad Cities is looking for a creative, strategic, and highly organized Social Media & Events Manager to help us bring our mission to life — online and in person.
This is not just a “post and plan events” role. This is a brand-building, community-energizing, impact-amplifying position that sits at the intersection of storytelling, engagement, and experience design.

What You’ll Do
Bring Our Story to Life Digitally
You will own and elevate our social media presence across platforms.
- Develop and execute dynamic content strategies and calendars
- Create compelling posts, short-form video, graphics, and event promotion content
- Translate impact stories into scroll-stopping storytelling
- Use analytics and insights to refine strategy and grow engagement
- Monitor channels and actively engage with our community
- Track performance metrics and recommend improvements

Create Meaningful, Memorable Experiences
You will lead the planning and execution of mission-aligned events that inspire generosity and connection.
- Plan and execute donor events, volunteer engagements, fundraising events, and community showcases
- Build detailed work plans and timelines that keep teams aligned
- Collaborate across departments to ensure strong branding and seamless logistics
- Manage vendors, partners, and volunteers
- Conduct post-event evaluations and apply lessons learned
- Ensure every event strengthens relationships and advances revenue goals

Be a Steward of Our Brand
- Ensure consistent voice, tone, and visual identity across digital and in-person touchpoints
- Maintain strong working knowledge of programs and initiatives to tell accurate, powerful stories
- Collaborate across departments to support campaigns and strategic priorities
- Contribute to ongoing refinement of marketing systems and processes
Who You Are
You are:
- A strong storyteller who adapts messaging for different audiences
- Creative and innovative, but grounded in data
- Organized, deadline-driven, and highly detail-oriented
- Collaborative and relationship-focused
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Energized by both digital engagement and in-person events
You likely bring:
- 2–3 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, or event management
- Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, platform insights, etc.)
- Working knowledge of content management systems
- Strong project management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
